What are the benefits of sheepskin?

Research in the medical journal 'The Lancet' suggests that sheepskins have a soothing effect on babies, resulting in better sleep, reduced stress and improved weight gain. The soft wool texture also provides tactile stimulation and as the sheepskin is so portable, your baby will always feel safe and secure no matter where they are.

The natural properties of the wool help to regulate your baby's body temperature by keeping your baby cool in the summer and nice and cosy in the winter (therefore, there's no need to dress your baby in unnecessary layers which can feel quite restrictive!).

How do I look after my sheepskin?

For general cleaning, it is best to “spray clean” the sheepskin with a mixture of water and a gentle fabric conditioner (e.g. Ecover) and rub with a clean cloth. For heavy soiling, the sheepskin can be machined washed on a wool cycle (30°C) using a wool shampoo (with lanolin).

Once washed, shake the sheepskin vigorously, stretch to shape and hang to dry in the shade (do not tumble dry, hang in the sun or on a radiator). During the drying process, manipulate and re-stretch the sheepskin several times.

It is also recommended that you give your sheepskin a good shake and a comb from time to time to keep it fresh, soft and tangle-free. Click here to see the difference a weekly brushing can make!

Will the customised sheepskin fit my buggy/pram/car seat?

The customized sheepskin has been designed to fit most buggies/prams/car seats however, with new models coming out all the time, it is challenging to have an exhaustive list of compatible equipment. One important consideration which applies to the five-point harnesses on buggies and prams is that the shoulder straps must be detachable from the waist/side straps in order to fit the shoulder straps through the top slits of the sheepskin.

Our research has confirmed that the customized sheepskin fits most prams/buggies, including: Maclaren, Britax Vigour, Quinny Zapp & Buzz, Bugaboo, Silver Cross, Jane Slalom Pro, Phil&Teds Sport, Uban Detour Altitude, Mothercare Atlan/Loola/Maxim and Graco Travel System.

What if I need to return my sheepskin?

If for any reason you are unhappy with your unbacked sheepskin you can return it to us provided it has not been used. You need to return the sheepskin in its original packaging within 14 days of the date you received the item. Following receipt of the item we will then issue a refund for the price you paid for the item (return delivery costs are payable by the customer). You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for the purchase within 5 days of our receiving your return. If you require an exchange, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
